MMS 2008 Keynote Session Information
Tuesday, April 29: Bob Muglia, Senior Vice President, Server & Tools Business
"Dynamic IT: Transforming Management & the Datacenter" Join Microsoft Senior Vice President Bob Muglia for his opening Keynote as he discusses Dynamic IT and the transformation of management technologies and the datacenter -- all driven by today’s rapidly changing business environment and the resulting demands on IT. Dynamic IT is Microsoft's initiative focused on helping customers deliver technology innovation that helps IT create highly-optimized and agile infrastructures. The result? Reduced costs and an IT infrastructure that continuously aligns to changing business needs. Muglia will demonstrate Microsoft’s new virtualization and management technologies that enable IT to become an even stronger, more strategic partner to the business.
Wednesday, April 30: Brad Anderson, General Manager, Management and Services Division
"Managing the Dynamic Desktop" In today’s dynamic business environment, traditional desktop information workers are evolving. Your users have an ever-increasing expectation that they will be able to work from anywhere and have access to their data at any time. Even when away from their traditional office or away from their managed device, they want access to their applications, data, and user experience. While this flexibility increases user productivity, it introduces additional management and security burdens for IT departments.
Brad Anderson, General Manager of Microsoft’s Management and Services Division shares his thoughts on user centric management, and how it applies to deploying and managing different client computing models to best meet the unique needs of your users and your business. Learn how Windows Vista, the Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack, and Windows Server 2008, together with System Center, enable the decoupling of the traditional desktop stack making desktop management more efficient and easing change and user migration. Among the topics to be covered are trends, solutions, and the System Center road map. The future in desktop computing is here.Thursday, May 1: Debra Chrapaty, Corporate Vice President
of Global Foundation Services
"The Reality of the Cloud" A key piece of Software+Services is the ability to have applications and information available “in the cloud” to access when and where customers need them. In reality, we know the cloud is made of data centers filled with racks of servers linked by fast connections. Debra Chrapaty, corporate vice-president of Global Foundation Services, will share her thoughts on building, connecting, securing and managing clouds that support hundreds of millions of customers around the world, around the clock.
