Hands-on Labs
Note: Looking for lab manuals? They are available in pdf format on the Session Scheduler. Simply filter the session listings by Hands-on Labs or Instructor-led. The manuals are listed as downloadable attachments under each HOL title and abstract.
MMS 2008 offers attendees even more Hands-on Lab topics than in any previous year, covering the broad range of System Center products and technologies. Hands-on labs are one of the most popular features of the MMS event each year, and we strongly encourage all registered attendees to book their lab places as early as possible since the most popular lab sessions are typically fully booked long before the event opens.
Lab topics will again be offered at MMS 2008 in two formats:
Instructor-led Labs: Four rooms are dedicated to Instructor-led lab (ILL) sessions throughout the week, during which an instructor provides an introduction to the each lab topic and leads attendees through the lab procedure for a specific topic. Places in all Instructor-led Sessions may be reserved in advance though the MMS 2008 Attendee web site. Prior reservations are recommended since sessions typically become fully booked before the event opens.
Self-paced Labs: A self-paced hands-on lab area adjacent to the CommNet area will offer walk-up access to lab topics where attendees may complete their choice of lab topics without an instructor but with lab proctor support during session time-slots. Access to the self-paced lab machines is provided throughout each day on a first-come basis. On-line reservations are not available for the self-paced lab area.
Lab Session SchedulingInstructor-led lab sessions are scheduled to match breakout session slots and are 75 minutes long. All Instructor-led lab rooms and the self-paced lab areas are also available for unsupervised use during lunch breaks and after scheduled sessions finish for the day.
Scheduled lab sessions start on Monday, April 28th, one day before the breakout sessions begin, providing an opportunity to attend labs on that day without missing any of the valuable breakout presentations. These Monday lab sessions are extremely popular and tend to become fully booked early.
IMPORTANT:
Once the hands-on lab schedule has been published and opened to on-line bookings, registered attendees may reserve places in up to 3 lab sessions prior to the event. One week before the event attendees may book an additional 2 lab sessions and once the event opens any number of lab session slots may be reserved.
